My students need 54 high interest children's book titles from "The Naked Mole-Rat Letters" to "Who Was Johnny Appleseed?" to read during independent reading.

My Students

My students love reading! They can sit and read independently for hours. Unfortunately, we have a limited number of high interest reading books. My students often ask for new books, but we have limited resources right now. I really want to make sure my students keep their love of reading.

My students are 3rd graders in an urban city in Massachusetts.

A great percentage of the students are English Language Learners. They are eager to learn and love to share what they learn from reading. They are beginning to love reading non-fiction!

My Project

These resources will enable my students to continue reading books they enjoy. They will have a greater choice of books and be able to read the books they see in bookstores and not just the books that are provided with our reading program. Students will be able explore the lives of famous people in the biographies I am asking for, or sit back and enjoy an entertaining story.

Help keep the love of reading alive in my classroom.

Think back to how great it feels to read a great book and to want to read another. This project will help my students reach higher reading success and will continue to be used for years to come!
