My Students

My students believe that, Kidz Kreate Good Kopy. As a group project, the students want to provide their teachers, administrators and staff with the service of taking their publication needs and developing them into a marketable piece of work. They have learned how to use various types of software.

My students are ninth through twelfth graders who are mostly from low income families.

Our school is a public high school, in a section of Louisiana which sustained massive flooding. The students are very concerned that our area has lost so many businesses. They came up with a class's project that would give the teachers the ability to have publication services on our school campus. They would like to eventually open their services up to their community and neighborhood. They had the idea that they could use their knowledge and talents to produce products that the faculty, administrators, and they themselves, could be proud of. Their ultimate goal is to carry the business out into everyday life.

My Project

Having a brand new color printer and paper in class will multiply the students' enthusiasm tenfold. They can't wait to see the created publications in vivid color. They have already excepted requested publications from the faculty and the administration, which they have saved on jump drives, until we can get a color printer. They continue to say,"Wait till you see this printed out in color." The students will learn how to organize their order/request process. They will learn to create or develop the publication idea, make customer adjustment, set a dateline, packet and deliver the product. The are interested in meeting a need around the school, their community and neighborhood.

This project is important because it will give the students the self-esteem that they need.

I also gives the students the ability the carry out the class project, which will assist the teachers, administrators, staff, community, and neighborhood.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
