Sensory Opportunities for Students with Special Needs

My Students

Be the spark that ignites a new world of learning for my special needs students. My students have special sensory needs that must be met before they are able to focus on lesson material. Your donation would give them the sensory integration equipment they need.

My special needs classroom services students in a rural high poverty area with mild to severe disabilities.

Our classroom has kindergarten through second grade. Arizona has dropped to last in the nation for school funding, and with more severe budget cuts in the current and next school year, many classroom will go without needed supplies. My students love to learn, and without this equipment, they will not have what they need to meet sensory needs so that they can focus on lesson materials.

My Project

Your donation of these resources will allow my students to fully participate in the curriculum and overcome some of the barriers that affect them on a daily basis. I am requesting a tent, a ball bit w/sensory balls, vibrating pillows, and a weighted rap. Special needs students with sensory issues need these items to help them calm down, reduce or increase sensory input, and aid in focusing.

The children are desperately waiting for that compassionate and caring person to give them the spark they need to be successful in school. Be the wind beneath their wings and make this year, the year they get the equipment they have been waiting for.
