Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am going on my tenth year of teaching kindergarten. The school where I teach is in a high-need community. For my entire teaching career I have purchased or made my classrooms learning materials, because I have been told, as the other teachers, there is no money in the budget for learning materials. My classroom needs to living up its learning centers.

After ten years of teaching kindergarten my center materials are just not what they used to be. Over the years many of my learning center materials have either suffered ware and tear or are missing crucial elements. I have used much of my time and money to replace or repair most materials, but many are beyond the point of help and just need a fresh start.

I am asking for a set of 8 center boxes for children in kindergarten. These boxes will be beneficial to my students during centers (their independent learning time) for both my English and bilingual students so they can explore and learn about many topics such as colors, insects, and community helpers. These theme boxes can be placed in various centers to connect with the learning that is going on each week.

Your help will ensure that my students this year as well as many years to come will experience an enjoyable hands-on learning environment.
