I teach fourth grade at an inner-city public school in southeastern Michigan. We are located in a high-need community with about 85% of our student body receiving free lunch.

I am always searching for interesting reading materials which will expand the horizons of my students. I also search for interesting ways to familiarize them with a variety of reading genre.

I would like to expose them to the genre of magazine articles. I have collected an extensive library of books, but have no other types of materials for my students to read. Colorful magazines with interesting articles written for children would be just the ticket! The children could experience, through words and pictures, new ideas and places. Hopefully the magazine articles would spark an interest in a new topic and help to expand their world!
