What's An Island Without Fish?

My aquarium project needs a 29 gallon aquarium, an aquarium stand and accessories.

I teach in a low income area, where students face struggles with many of today's problems. I create an "island" in my room, with art and dance, and many items found on islands. This creates a safe, fun and calming place where my students love to come to school.

We are limited to supplies creating a problem for teaching outside the box. As a teacher I use my own funds to finance projects in my room all year to create well rounded students and meet the instruction required by our county. Always exceeding the test scores my students love coming to school, however this is hard on myself to keep this kind of learning continuing and to be able to afford my own life.

The aquarium I am requesting seems large, however I am hoping this continues from year to year, for each class to add to it and create their own legacy and make an addition to the fish, plants, or any part of the aquarium. Giving them a sense of ownership that they can come back and say "that is mine: I helped create it and its still here!

Your help will ensure that my students attend school and promote a successful school year for the children. This will give them a goal as well as a continuing learning aquarium. Allowing students to contribute, and question "what can I do in the future?
