Book Shopping Books Needed for Growing Readers

My students need 37 book titles (on various reading levels) to use for independent reading.

I teach reading, writing, math, science, and social studies to a lively bunch of 2nd graders. Our school is in a high need community, which makes it difficult to look to parents for donations.

Our "Book Hospital" is getting full! I inherited a very old classroom library when I took over a room from a retiring teacher. Not a day goes by where at least one child comes up to me to show me how the pages are falling out of their books. Our designated "Book Hospital" is getting full. While we don't mind bandaging our books up with tape and staples; some of our books have been bandaged more than they should. My students would love to be able to go "book shopping" (this is when they pick books on their level to keep in their reading bags during the week) without digging through the old, worn books.

My students and I are requesting books for their "book shopping" library. We have asked for a variety of high interest books on various reading levels to help rebuild our library. I know these books will excite my students to want to read more!
