I teach 5th-grade science to 88 ESL students who are eager to learn, and even more eager to save the earth! We live in a very industrial part of our urban city and love to explore and learn what our part is to keep the earth safe and healthy for us to survive and enjoy its beauty. We are constantly looking for ways we can be held accountable for changing things to make them better, whether the issue is environmental or social. In this case, saving the world is both!

We have very few resources available in our Science department. It's difficult to teach conservation with few resources. Science kits will really help bring home the concept of conservation, recycling and pollution. We need this in order to expand our knowledge of the part we play in harming the earth and how we can prevent future harm.

We need environmental kits so that each child can participate in pollution study activities and see first-hand what causes harm, what we can do turn back the damage, and what we can do to prevent future damage. This will be a life-long learning experiment. They will be better citizens because of it. Once a child sees, hears, smells, tastes and touches something, they learn it forever.
