My Students

Picture This! Children documenting their own work. My students are eager to get their little fingers on their own cameras and not fight over one. Put the technology in the hands of the students and let's see digital photography in kindergarten classrooms.

My students are ages 5-6 in a K-6th grade building with approximately 460 students.

They enjoy all subjects and they especially love to show their work to others. They love being in front of the camera at all times. They are eager and excited about using technology.

My Project

If we were to receive the resources, my students will be able to document their work or any events. They could document field trips, visitors, show and tell, and parties. The cameras would be helpful in sequencing, creating graphs, social interaction, and recall learning experiences. Putting the camera into the students hands develops ownership, motivates, promotes problem-solving skills, fosters responsibility, and encourages open-ended activities feel that the students will automatically be comfortable with the cameras and the magic will flow.

When we photograph a child or group of children involved in an experience, we are saying... "What you are doing is so important to us that we need to record it".

With these digital tools my students will document their work in all subject areas. This will be equipping them with 21st Century skills that will help them empower the world in which they This!
