Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a middle school teacher who teaches in a community that lack resources in order for me as an educator to provide opportunities and direct experiences of what is taught in the textbook. For years, I have gone to the library and checked out DVDs on related topics to support the text. For example, I taught a lesson on the Grand Canyon. I used pictures, Internet, and books to build background information. However, when I showed the DVD "National Parks Grand Canyon" the students were truly engaged and excited to review materials that were taught in the lessons. However, My chief problem is checking out DVDs for the time period that I may need them. Often times, I am competing with others. Therefore, it is heart-wrenching when you try to check out DVDs and they are not available. Therefore, I am in need of having a class set of DVDs that will enhance my overall teaching experience in order to promote success and positive learning experience for my students. To close, these DVDs would support my students learning experience even if we are limited to explore/tour these wonderful sites.
