Now I Know What A Marine Invertebrate Feels Like Part 2

My students need live rock, an aquarium filter, a fluorescent aquarium hood,an aquarium heater, and fish food.

I teach zoology to juniors and seniors. First semester we study invertebrate animals. Many of the students are filled with questions about the invertebrates because they have never learned about them. They have never seen a sponge, anemone, or sea cucumber. If they had a marine aquarium in the classroom that had these invertebrates, many of their questions would be answered and it would provide them with more questions.

The school does not have enough money to provide the students with animals and aquariums. I keep bearded dragons, a gecko, and a snake in the classroom and the students have an opportunity to handle, feed, and care for.

We have the aquarium, but need all the chemicals, filtration, and animals to fill the tank. I am asking for things like live rock, a filter, and an fluorescent aquarium hood. This aquarium will be a daily tool for my students to learn with. We will read and study about these animals, and then they can have hands-on experiences with them to solidify their learning.

My high school zoology students need to be able to see and touch marine invertebrates to fully grab their interest and fuel their desire to learn. You will make it possible for these young adults to learn more about marine invertebrates. Without your donations, I will not be able to put a salt water aquarium in the classroom.
