We Are Citizens of the World!

My students need 1 Continents Activity Chest, 1 Children of the World Poster Pack, 1 Children of the World Book Set, and 1 Learn About Social Studies Photo Books set so they can have hands on experience as well as see real pictures from the continents around the world.

Help my students learn about the world outside of their small town! This is for a Kindergarten class in a high poverty, high teen pregnancy rate public school in South Carolina.

Many of my students have never left this town for more then going to WalMart. One of our district goals is to show our students that there is life outside of the area they were brought up in. Because of large hold on spending my class has not been given money to purchase new items this year like I had planned. My students love learning about different countries and finding where they are on our globe.

My hope is that these materials will help expand my students knowledge of the world by showing them that even though someone may be different or from another country they still do the sames activities as us, just a little differently. These materials will help them not only look at pictures and hear words from around the world but give them hands on materials where they can feel and touch objects that represent these countries. It will hopefully increase their desires to one day learn a different language or travel to a foreign country. Mostly I hope that it leaves them with an understanding that even though people may do things or look different we should embrace them all!

Your help with supporting this project will make all of these things possible for my students. Together we can infuse lifelong learning goals into these them that will hopefully help them make good decisions in the future! Thank you for considering helping our classroom!
