My students need 10 math bingo games, a mastering math games library set, and 9 math board games.

Watching young minds grow and developing young minds to love learning is something I get to do everyday. I teach in a third grade classroom with 21 students whose abilities range from below grade level to above grade level work, as well as special education students and English Language Learners. Each student is unique and all of my students love to learn. We are located in a semi-rural area. We are a Title 1 school and a great deal of our students come from lower-income families. Our county's budget has been slashed and we do not have money to purchase anything at all for our students.

My young students enjoy hands-on learning and using engaging manipulatives and materials. They have shown an interest in using board games during our math enrichment time. However, I only have two math related board games and two math related bingo games in my classroom for the students to use during math enrichment everyday. Our county is not giving teachers any money to purchase materials or supplies.

The ten math bingo games, the mastering math games library set, and the nine various math board games from Lakeshore Learning would allow my students to use engaging materials to cover basic math skills for third grade during our math enrichment time each day. These math related games would allow my students to practice number operations, money, and time each day in a fun and engaging way. The math bingo games are great because they can be used in small group instruction or as a whole group to reinforce basic math skills such as multiplication and division. The many board games that I have selected will help the students understand time, such as elapsed time, which is a skill third graders usually struggle with. These materials in third grade comes with many benefits such as the development of problem-solving skills, reasoning skills, higher order thinking skills, and mastering math skills. In addition, working with others using hands-on games allows struggling students a chance to be successful at a math skill that normally they would struggle with and to practice the skill in a less stressful setting.

Your donation will assist me in the enrichment of the third grade experience for my students. Hands-on learning is essential for third grade, and these math bingo games and board games will allow my students to increase their math skills in a fun, engaging way.
