Inquiring minds want literature! I am a 5th grade teacher in a Title 1 school. Last year, the school won the Blue Ribbon Award which is an award for acedemic improvement in a high poverty school. I am very proud of this award, and I feel very fortuate that I am a part of this educational staff.

We are in need of a listening center, and with the technology we have in iPod's and MP3 players, I feel that these are a better choice then the traditional listening centers. I can access and download 1,000's of audio books FREE on the public library's website. With a traditional listening center, I would have to check out from a very limited supply of audio tapes and CD's.

The iPod's will be used year after year by my students. Listening to the audio books will improve their fluency, oral language, and comprehension skills.
