Students Flip For Writing!!!

My students need 2 Pure Digital Flip Camcorders.

I teach at a Title I school with 80% of our students receiving the free and reduced lunch rate. This is my first year teaching fourth grade after teaching third grade for six years. My classroom is made up of students who struggle academically, but work very hard to try to overcome this obstacle. My students receive special education services in all areas of study.

Do you know how hard it is to get struggling writers excited about writing? Well, let me tell you, it is a daily challenge to grab their attention and get them excited. My goal is to use technology to raise my students' level of enthusiasm. We are living in the land of technology and many children are better at using technology then their parents. One writing project this year was to research the 2008 Presidential Candidates. After the research was complete, we created a power-point presentation and presented the information to our school's second through fifth grade students. Technology helped get my struggling writers so excited about the writing process. The students had the opportunity to use the new Flip Video Camcorder to record the voting process in our school. Since they got to use it on this project, they have all asked when we were going to get one for our classroom because they could not wait to use it again.

I am requesting two Flip Video Camcorders for my classroom to give my students to freedom to expand their creativity. This camcorder is easy to use and will allow the students to explore new educational technology.

With your help my students' creativity will be without limits and their writing will continue to soar. Maybe one of my students will be the next great author!
