I teach grades K-5 in a low socioeconomic area and I would love to keep a book in my 3rd-5th grade students hands.

My school is 75% free and reduced lunch, and with students coming from these household they don't have the funds to spend on reading materials. Our library has older reading materials and I would like to buy popular authors for my students to read.

Coming from a economically deprived area my students have not been provided with books from new popular authors. I need sets of books (Harry Potter, Lemony Snicket, and Bailey School Kids)to help keep a book in my students hands. My students need the opportunity to read books that are or have been on a best seller list.

You will make it possible for my students to leave the low income world they live in and visit a fantasy world through reading like most other 9, 10, and 11 year olds. It is very difficult to get students to read especially when we don't have enough newer authors. With your help we can encourage my students to establish the love of reading.
