We Need A Classroom Library!

My classroom desperately needs quality literature for my students to read! I have requested several sets of Caldecott and Newberry award winning books as well as multicultural books and literature books that enhance math lessons and teachers companions to add depth and clarity to the stories.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a wonderful group of third graders in a high crime, low socioeconomic area of California.

I recently switched from teaching Kindergarten to 3rd grade and when I got my supplies there were no books for the children, outside of the curriculum texts. Without a classroom library many of my students will never get the opportunity to read recommended reading books.

I need novels, chapter books, and literature classics to get my students hooked on reading as well as exposing them to books that all 3rd graders should be reading. In addition to the books, I've also requested teacher companions that will provide additional activities to help my students get more from the experience.

With your help I can get my students to excel in reading by giving them quality material to challenge them and help them compete with students in higher social circumstances.
