My students need 15 student atlases.

My 7th and 8th graders live in rural Vermont; our elementary school is high-poverty with children who have limited exposure and limited access to the outside world.

I am teaching at a new school this year that has limited funds and limited resources. I teach a World Studies course and a U.S. History course without a lot of resources. We have a wall map in our room, but no atlases. My World Studies course doesn't have a textbook, but a set of atlases would enable us to learn about both physical and cultural geography.

I've selected a set of atlases that are appropriate for the skill level of my children. Using these texts, we will be able to discover why people live where they do, why some places have better economies than others, how geography has an effect on a place's culture and more.

Your donation towards these atlases will make it so much easier for my students to visualize the world outside of their small little town. I hope to encourage my students to think about life outside of Vermont, and to one day explore the world.
