I am a Middle School Special Education teacher at an inner-city Charter School. Our students comes from all over our city and create a diverse learning environment.
I recently received news that our school was selected to work with our cities mural arts program in creating a mural in our local community. The program will work with our students this coming fall to facilitate arts education through the designing and execution of a large scale mural in our local neighborhood.
In educating our students on the power of art and its ability to change our lives, I am proposing the use of 2 mural books to serve as a backbone for our work. These two mural books will help students understand our mural project in the larger scale of arts in our city and world. The books will be shared by students in various middle school classrooms to study various aspects of mural making.
In funding these proposed books you will help engage and enlighten our students to be empowered artists in our community. We promise we will send pictures of our finished product as well as the process to our funders!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
