Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 3rd grade regular and special needs students in an inclusion setting in a depressed urban district.

Many of my students are visually impaired and they lack corrective lenses. I use an overhead projector to help show enlarged text and images but I must pay for my own transparencies and print them out on my computer at home. Our copying is highly restricted at school so I am not able to make copies of what I need for all my students to see. Our district has a minimum of text and materials and we rarely have multiple copies of books to share. We have a large class so this makes it more difficult when students need to look at the same material.

An Elmo will allow me to project text and images that my students will be able to see clearly. They will also be able to share their work with each other and interact with their peers in positive ways using this equipment.

Your help in acquiring this equipment will enable my students to access materials that would normally not be available to them. You can help enrich their learning experience and create a dynamic learning environment.
