I am a middle school teacher at George Middle School, a very low-income and urban school in Portland, Oregon. Our school is full of an incredibly diverse and enthusiastic student population, but unfortunately we lack some of the most basic supplies, let alone any enrichment materials. I want to make sure that our students look forward to coming to school, and have opportunities for academic achievement in the classroom, as well as exploratory opportunities in their electives and on the playground.
