My classroom is limited in regards to technology. I feel that it is important for students to included in their education. Through technology my students will be able to be more involved in their learning.
My students are eager to learn.
They love learning and each of them learn differently. Most of my students struggle as readers and do not read on grade level. When learning sounds they love asking questions about the sounds and words that contain the sounds. My school is located in a rural area where resources are limited as well as funds.
My Project
Most of my students are well below grade level. We live in a rural area where there are limited resources available. Many of my students are struggling readers but are eager to learn and absorb as much knowledge as they possibly can. There is so much that can be done to help my students with the use of tablets in my classroom. With the tablet they can record themselves reading a book, they can have a book read to them through you-tube and other available applications, and they can read along with the applications. When learning letter sounds, teams. diphthongs, digraphs, etc. instead of me providing them with more challenging they research and look up their own words as well as the meaning to these words. I want my students to actively learn through investigation and technology.
My project will make a difference to my students because it will provide them with the opportunity to explore things and places that many will never be able to visit.
It will make them more confident readers and will assist them in obtaining their goals of one day reading on grade level. It will allow them to have some ownership of what they are learning. They will be given a better opportunity to be successful 21st century learners.
