  • Warmth, Hunger, & Care For K/1 Split Scholars

    Funded Oct 13, 2024

I am writing to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support and generosity in providing essential winter warm wear, umbrellas, snacks, and dental hygiene supplies for my primary classroom. Your contributions have made a profound difference in the daily lives of my students, many of whom face challenges that go far beyond the classroom. Because of you, our young learners have been able to stay warm and dry during harsh weather, start their days with nourishing snacks, and care for their health with toothbrushes and toothpaste—items that are often taken for granted but deeply needed.

Seeing the joy on my students' faces when they received their new jackets, hats, and umbrellas was truly heartwarming. The excitement of something as simple as having a warm coat or their very own toothbrush was a powerful reminder of the impact that kindness and community support can have. Your donations not only met physical needs but also helped build a sense of dignity and belonging that every child deserves to feel.

Thank you once again for investing in the well-being and success of our classroom. Your thoughtfulness has not gone unnoticed, and it continues to inspire both me and my students every day. Because of you, our children are better equipped to focus on learning, knowing they are cared for and supported. We are deeply grateful for your compassion and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. V.

  • The COMPASSION Project in K/1st: Compassion In Action

    Funded Oct 13, 2024

This project was especially inspiring as the students really took compassion in action to heart. This year we had students pointing out acts of kindness they noticed in the same way kids sometimes tattle on each other. Only these were like positive tattles! This project helped our class highlight how to be kind, and how kindness might mean something different to different people. And how kindness can be shown in many little ways. Our students took the time to notice the compassion and kindness happening around them, and call it out as awesome, deserving of an award. There were so many gold compassion trophies awarded thus far this year! And there are still a bunch more to give over the next 50+ days until summer. This class really loved celebrating each others success. It was a delight. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. V.

  • Highlighter Tape, 10 Frames, and Word Builders, Oh My!

    Funded Feb 28, 2024

This project has helped our class so much! With such emphasis on students growing their literacy and math skills in the primary grades (kindergarten to 2nd grade) my hope was that the tools from this project, especially the ten frames and highlighter tape would allow students to learn through guided discovery and exploration. In my opinion, and from my experience we, as teachers, are the guides for students who are on their own educational journey for knowledge and making meaning from the world around them. Our job is to provide opportunities and lay our experiences for students to experiment, grow, learn, and develop their own understanding as this style of learning is an excellent support for developing long term memory and students constructing their own understanding of the basic skills they will need as they continue on their educational journey.

They loved using the 10 frames, and often use them to support building math skills, as well as a structure for 'make a 10', addition, subtraction, as well as building conceptual understanding of the associative property of addition (3+4=4+3) which states the sum of three or more numbers remains the same regardless of how the numbers are grouped. This is because the quantity remains the same, no matter how the equation is written. The highlighter tape was equally supportive when students search for letter combinations and sight words as they read, highlighting their discoveries to share with their peers.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. V.

  • Afro-Latinx & Philippines Books & More For A Multicultural Celebration!

    Funded Feb 28, 2024

Thank you so very much for supporting this project. Our class loves the books included in this set! They represent the students in our classroom and they love reading these books. Often students show the pictures to each other and talk about how they are similar to their own self, or other students in the classroom. Representation of our diverse community in our classroom library is such a benefit for our early readers. As students decide if they love reading or not - these books help them to connect to reading, and build a strong foundation based on a very real connection. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. V.

  • Kawaii Art How-to-Draw Station in K/1 Split Classroom

    Funded Sep 14, 2023

Today, Wednesday, was art day and the perfect day to write a thank you for your support of this project! Our class LOVES art time and thanks to this project it is also included in our daily 'free choice' time for art centered students! It's so special when a student with a love of art, or a talent for drawing is given time and tools to support their skills.

The 5.5"X8.5" Sketch Book Spiral Bound Artist Sketch Pad from this project were a hit! Students love having their own artist notebook. They really enjoy using the lovely Crayola Washable Markers with Retractable Tips too! The colors are so bright and cheery, even on the darkest winter day!

The books in our how-to-draw library now include: How to Draw Cute Animals,

How to Draw Cute Beasts, How to Draw Cute Stuff: Draw Anything and Everything in the Cutest Style Ever!, How to Draw Cute Stuff: Around the World, and finally, How to Draw Cute Food. They just love the layout of these books, the easy to follow directions, and the multiple copies make this how-to-draw art library really fun for our class.

    Thank you!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. V.

  • Snacks for Hungry Tummies and Clorox Wipes For Clean Desks

    Funded Mar 1, 2023

The resources from this project are some of the most important to keep our scholars healthy and learning at their highest potential! Thank you SO MUCH for supporting our classroom scholars with the snacks and cleaning supplies. Without your generosity our day would have fewer smiles and more sleepy students. The cleaning supplies are especially important this season with colds and flu going around. These supplies help us protect our students against getting sick from classmates germs. Our classroom is very thankful!”

  • Winter Wear For Wonderful Students

    Funded Nov 2, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting this project! The students ABSOLUTLY LOVED all the items from this project! The winter wear sets were super cute, and they all jumped for joy when they saw the boxes arrive! Students were able to wear their winter great right away, as we have had so very very cold weeks here this winter. The umbrellas were a fantastic hit as well, with these being many students first umbrella they have ever owned! It was really fun to teach them how to use their umbrellas and how to take good care of them so they last a long time. Thank you for helping keep our scholars warm and dry this winter!”

  • Watercolor Painting Artist's General-Ed Classroom!

    Funded Oct 18, 2022

Thank you from the bottom of my teacher heart for supporting this project! This year has been an amazing one so far, full of art and normalizing painting every day! Our students have the option to paint after completing their work, and are so responsible with the items from this project. They can also use the paints in art class, or as an option when illustrating writing and science projects. It is a dream come true for them to get their own assigned paint box and plenty of brushes to choose from. The paints we got are super high quality too! Thank you!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. V.

Together we can make student dreams for the future an obtainable reality. I'm talking about the BIG picture here. Let's give these brilliant young individuals who overcome daily adversity every opportunity to develop their minds, discover their dreams, and inspire their future to impact their community, country, and the world. Only they have the power to create a future we cannot even imagine. We have the power to make our classroom a landscape for learning. Let's give them all the tools and experiences we can!
