I teach ELLs (English Language Learners) in an urban community where they have so much joy in learning and constantly experiencing life as they know it. ELLs must overcome many challenges, including limited schooling, trauma, and poverty. Some ELLs come from countries where education is not mandated. There are ELL's that travel and are constantly moving from one school to another. There are also ELLs who may attend school in their native country, but the quality of education is less than the U.S. Students experiencing trauma due to war, natural disaster, or dramatic poverty is critical to their development. I want my students to enjoy learning English through interactive technology. Interactive learning is a more hands-on, real-world process of relaying information in classrooms.
