During Reading Workshop, students are expected to read a high volume of books related to the content of their lessons. The upcoming units are designed around students reading nonfiction chapter books and books that contain content related to social issues. These books will drastically increase the options available in classroom libraries, therefore, ensuring all children have access to books that they are excited about! As all educators and parents know children are most motivated to read when given options that relate to their own personal interests. Our classroom library must be as inviting as possible. These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because the avid readers in my sixth grade classes are constantly looking for new and exciting books to engage them in their learning.
