I've caught myself scavenging for leftover pencils in the hallway after school one day and realized that I needed to make this donor's choose project. The majority of my students do not come to school with the basic materials they need such as pencils or erasers. I tried to give students pencils to keep, but they come to class the next day with nothing to write with. These small golf pencils stand out among other pencils, they will allow me to identify and remind students to return the pencils they borrowed and hopefully instill a sense of responsibility and respect for classroom materials. They also come in large quantities so I will have enough to last me all year and beyond. Students needs pencils, but they also need to learn how to be responsible and remember to return materials that are not theirs.
