My plans are to spend the first 15 minutes of every day doing yoga/mindfulness activities on the requested 22 rest mats. Mindfulness Activities and Yoga have emerged as a way of treating children with conditions ranging from ADHD to anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, depression, and stress. The benefits are proving to be tremendous. Mindfulness activities would not only benefit the children with the above conditions, it would benefit all students. Mindfulness activities improve concentration, mental clarity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to relate to others and one' self with kindness, acceptance, and compassion. How wonderful would it be to be able to do this with 6-7 year olds. I am so excited.
