Providing flexible seating, such as tables, chairs, and couches in my classroom will engage my students in the various activities we will complete in our centers each day. I will have one center for reading, one center for technology and research, one center for writing and collaboration, and an additional center for small group instruction. The horseshoe desk or a rectangular table will also provide me with a way to spend one-on-one time with students to give them individualize instruction while the rest of the class has a comfortable space to be diligent and focused. The desks we have are overbearing and difficult to maneuver. These tables will allow my students to relax and enjoy the learning process.
