My students need a calming and relaxing environment. Throughout the course of any given day, many of my students will never have a chance to focus and succeed academically based strictly on their environments. Many go home to attempt to study or to read for pleasure, but their home lives do not allow for that. There are loud people or outside responsibilities that prevent them from being their best selves. My students deserve a calm relaxing place to thrive in their education. I envision my school Library Media Center being that place. Students will enter and immediately be calmed by the diffused lighting, and the aromatherapy will assist them in focusing on their studies.
