I am of the opinion that EVERYONE LOVES TO READ. However, many of us simply haven't discovered what genre we enjoy. The children that I serve at our Title 1 campus would fit snugly into this category. The cozy corner that we are creating is the first stage in getting my students to reconsider reading as a privilege and a pleasure, as opposed to simply an obligation. Pushing toward more challenging selections in this cozy corner will enhance their literacy and overall comprehension. As a rookie teacher, I have a small but growing library of literature. With your help, my students will have a soft place to land, to jump-start their life-long love of reading.
