Students used the paper, markers, sticky notes, and poster supplies to engage in hands-on reading and writing activities, including gallery walks, station rotations, claim–evidence posters, and analysis of texts. We have been working hard this semester on annotations, reflections, and questions from multiple perspectives. The supplies allowed students to move, discuss, write, revise, and visibly track their thinking in ways that made learning accessible.\r\n\r\nThe students were excited to see the boxes of supplies delivered to my classroom this year. They have helped me organize bins of markers, crayons, rulers, and notebooks, and when I told them that people donated to our classroom to supply these items, their reactions were immediate and enthusiastic. Many commented on how kind it was for people who did not know them to donate to our classroom. The materials helped establish a safe and creative environment where students felt comfortable sharing their thinking, taking risks, and celebrating one another's work. Classroom walls quickly filled with student-created posters, one-pagers, and analytical writing, giving students a sense of pride and ownership in their learning. Additionally, I was able to supply a hygiene and snack closet for students that includes feminine products, lotion, deodorant wipes, toothbrushes and toothpaste, paper towels, sanitizing wipes, and the always-needed boxes of tissue.\r\n\r\nSecond semester, I plan to advertise and expand the hygiene closet I have started to the entire school, so students are aware of the items available for them. My husband and I have decided to supply the closet with student requests as they arise. Because of this project, students were able to continue building toward deeper analysis and stronger writing skills. The organizational tools and supplies made it possible to sustain these routines daily, ensuring students had consistent access to the resources they needed to succeed. By supporting this project, donors didn't just provide materials—they helped create a classroom culture where freshman students felt inspired, supported, and excited to learn as they began their high school journey.","fullyFundedDate":1756925111642,"projectUrl":"project/new-roots-growing-together-cultivating/9505299/","projectTitle":"New Roots, Growing Together: Cultivating a Positive, Inspiring Learning Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hushbeck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10096387"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_128808","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":220,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":47,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":81.8,"schoolId":128808,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rock Springs Satellite High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rock Springs Satellite High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wyoming/sweetwater-county-school-district-1/rock-springs-satellite-high-school/128808"}
