These new texts have allowed us to explore a wide range of reading skills and lessons. Students are learning how to make inferences, identify themes, analyze characters, and connect what they read to their own lives. We've also focused on developing stronger vocabulary and comprehension through discussions and journaling about the books.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading isn't just silent time—it's active and interactive. Students read together in small groups, share their favorite parts, and make predictions about what might happen next. We often use read-alouds to model fluency and expression, and students love taking turns reading to their peers. The room buzzes with excitement when we start a new chapter or discover a twist in the story!\r\n\r\nSeveral students who once struggled to stay engaged during reading time are now fully invested. One student who used to avoid chapter books proudly finished his first novel and immediately asked what he could read next. Another student who loves art has been sketching scenes and characters from our books during independent reading time.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just put books on our shelves—it helped spark a love of reading that's spreading throughout the class.
