With 3D printers, students design and produce parts for technical projects, which reinforces engineering and problem-solving skills. Arduino and other programming platforms allow hands-on exploration of physical computing, giving students the ability to see their code come to life. Interactive displays, connected tablets, and digital art tools engage students directly in lessons, foster collaboration, and encourage participation in ways traditional classrooms cannot. Overall, the technology supports creativity, critical thinking, and active learning every day.\r\n\r\nStudents are particularly thrilled by the opportunity to create and share real, tangible results from their ideas. The 3D printers and laser engraver let them build unique components for their projects. The heat presses allow them to design and produce custom team shirts, while the ChompSaws and hot glue guns give them the freedom to construct sophisticated models and creative projects. Many students love using the phones, cameras, and photo booth to document their work, capture memories, and share their achievements with the community. The combination of creation, collaboration, and recognition is what excites them most.\r\n\r\nWhile all students have benefited, some who were previously hesitant or less engaged in traditional classroom activities have truly flourished with these tools. Students who struggle with written assignments now thrive in hands-on, visual, and technical projects, building confidence as they see their ideas come to life. Others who are passionate about art, photography, or design have embraced the tablets, cameras, and interactive displays to explore and develop their skills. The technology has created new entry points for every learner, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to projects, collaborate with peers, and gain skills they are proud to showcase.","fullyFundedDate":1754323589655,"projectUrl":"project/creative-technology/9453183/","projectTitle":"Creative Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Riley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2511362"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39480","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":766,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":27,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":82,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":61.3,"schoolId":39480,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about CY Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"CY Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wyoming/natrona-county-school-district-1/cy-junior-high-school/39480"}
