Your contributions directly provided my students with essential and enriching educational tools including wooden block puzzles, a document camera, popsicle sticks for building, and USB thumb drives. Each item you helped provide has already begun making a meaningful difference in my students' daily experiences, and I want to take a moment to share just how impactful your donation has been.\r\n\r\nFirst and foremost, the wooden block puzzles have been a tremendous addition to our classroom environment. As any educator knows, young learners finish assignments at different paces. With the new puzzles, I now have a constructive, hands-on option for early finishers that both challenges their minds and reinforces problem-solving skills. Students are excited to engage with the puzzles, and it has been so rewarding to see their confidence grow as they master each one. They are developing spatial reasoning, patience, and perseverance—all while having fun. It's a quiet, focused activity that encourages independent thinking and has truly elevated the quality of our learning environment during transitions and downtime.\r\n\r\nThe document camera (doc cam) has also been a transformative tool for whole-class instruction. Before, it was difficult to ensure that every student could clearly see examples of student work, teacher-modeled writing, or manipulatives during lessons. Now, with the document camera projecting materials for all to see, instruction is more accessible and effective. It allows me to model real-time problem-solving strategies, annotate texts in front of the class, and showcase student work for collaborative feedback. Students are more engaged and participatory, and it has fostered a deeper sense of inclusion and understanding during lessons.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the popsicle sticks have opened up a world of creativity and hands-on STEM opportunities. Whether students are using them for classroom games and activities, or using them to draw names for random grouping, these simple tools have proven incredibly versatile. It's amazing how something so small can inspire so much innovation. Watching students collaborate on structures, test their designs, and revise their creations has been a powerful lesson in teamwork and design thinking.\r\n\r\nFinally, the USB thumb drives have allowed for smoother, more organized sharing and storage of student work. As technology becomes an increasingly important part of our classroom, having a reliable way for students to save and transfer their projects has been essential. Students are now able to take ownership of their work, back it up easily, and share their presentations, writing assignments, and multimedia projects with both teachers and family members. It's also helped us facilitate more efficient use of our limited technology resources.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students are learning in a classroom that better supports their academic, social, and creative development. You didn't just donate materials—you provided tools for exploration, growth, and confidence-building. Your contribution has enriched our daily routines and enhanced the quality of instruction I am able to provide.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us in Room 120, thank you again for your support. You've made a real difference in the lives of my students, and we are so grateful.\r\n\r\nWith appreciation,\r\nRobin O'Leary\r\nMiddle School Social Studies\r\nSaratoga Middle/High School","fullyFundedDate":1750883043588,"projectUrl":"project/from-hands-on-to-high-tech/9425704/","projectTitle":"From Hands-on to High-Tech","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. O'Leary","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10060275"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39386","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":139,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":40,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"8.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":39386,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Saratoga Middle High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Saratoga Middle High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wyoming/carbon-county-school-district-2/saratoga-middle-high-school/39386"}
