We've incorporated them into our daily ELA routines, especially during our vocabulary and writing blocks. One of my favorite moments happened during a recent writing workshop, when students eagerly flipped through their dictionaries to strengthen their word choice and check spelling on their own. It was wonderful to see them take ownership of their learning and feel confident using a real, tangible resource rather than relying on technology. \r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these dictionaries will continue to support our current work with informational writing and independent reading. Students will be using them to expand their vocabulary, check definitions, and build stronger, more precise sentences in their essays. Your generosity has made these opportunities possible, and my students are already growing more confident and capable because of the tools you provided. Thank you for giving them resources that will serve them all year long.","fullyFundedDate":1764869723409,"projectUrl":"project/words-at-their-fingertips/9936437/","projectTitle":"Words at Their Fingertips","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dressler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9624506_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722783968493","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9624506"},{"teacherId":9624506,"projectId":9151241,"letterContent":"My students were able to learn about historical fiction, a genre that many of them wouldn't normally choose on their own or encounter often in class. The materials you helped provide—glue, markers, and other essential supplies—have already made a huge impact on my students' learning experiences!\r\n\r\nWe've been using these resources for a variety of creative activities, including a hands-on writing project where students designed visual storyboards to plan their narratives. Having quality materials has allowed them to focus on expressing their ideas without worrying about running out of supplies.\r\n\r\nNext up, we're working on a collaborative writing project where students will create a body biography from one of the characters from the novel, Holes.
