They were so excited to see the flashlights. They mentioned that their teacher last year had flashlight reading and were looking forward to that in our classroom. The pockets help keep my students organized and our classroom clean. We keep our crayon boxes in our chair pocket so the students have more room to work at the table. When they need something they only need to reach behind them to get something out of the chair pocket and put it right back in. \r\nWe do morning coloring in my classroom as a soft start for the students that do not eat breakfast. One particular morning a student was very upset when it was time to clean up because the coloring was not finished. I just had to say \"keep it in your chair pocket and you can work on it again when we have time.\" This could have turned into a meltdown but because of the organizational tool, it did not. We use Fridays as a clean out the chair pocket day and send home any papers that may be left in our chair pockets. This helps keep them organized and tidy.","fullyFundedDate":1747459755243,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-space-saving-and-seating/9344247/","projectTitle":"Flexible Space Saving and Seating!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rommelfanger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4179936_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y504&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747180307098","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4179936"},{"teacherId":515680,"projectId":9274218,"letterContent":"Your donations have made an impact on student learning. The students are able to use the stools when we are using the carpet for our lessons. The headphones are wonderful as they can listen to books, use the Chromebook to read assessments, and we have extra if students don't have the resources. The green bands are helpful as a big motor fidget for students who may need to move their bodies while seated. They can use the band to cause resistance, while quietly working. Also, the Mr. Sketch markers are always a hit as they provide a colorful anchor chart that separates information by color, which helps them see relationships between information. \r\n When the students learned about the different resources they could use to help their engagement, they were excited to try them out. They would rush to grab a stool when called to the carpet. As I notice students who need a little extra movement, I put the band on their chair or desk and the stress melts away as they are able to work and move. It is so great to watch students get lost in a book by using the read to me option. Those headphones really keep students interested in reading. They've made keeping everything so much more organized and much more accessible to students. It's easier for students to see what's in the bags because of the mesh fabric. Before the bags, the tools were in plastic containers that were constantly cracking and breaking. Then manipulatives were getting lost. It also caused a mess for trying to store all the plastic containers and for students to try to figure out what was in them. Now with the mesh bags they can easily see inside, they zip easily, and the storage bins make it easy to store all the mesh bags in. \r\n\r\nThe students have enjoyed having these new materials and organization in our classroom! It makes getting ready for math easier for them. They also know exactly where the tools go back to when they're done using them, because the storage containers are all labeled based upon which mesh bags with which tools go in the bins! \r\n\r\nHaving these new materials has made our learning easier and keeps us all better organized! They can take the seat sacks off their chairs so they can sit in different areas around the room. \r\nThe students are really enjoying the new cushions that arrived as well. They like being able to sit on the cushion instead of the cold ground. This has allowed my students to be more engaged in their reading versus being uncomfortable. \r\nHaving the stools at my table has made the students more comfortable when having small group conferences. They are enjoying the stools very much and look forward to working with me at my table. \r\nThe students LOVE the flashlights.
