The atypical fall weather in Wisconsin has been hampering my plans to use all of our new and wonderful building materials. Well...the heavy snow and students with no boots meant that my students got to design, build, tear down structures, and start all over again! My students were beyond excited to use their new materials and they did not want to stop creating!\r\n\r\nMy favorite part was watching students who do not normally gravitate to one another collaborate, build and share together. The inclusivity of building and creating with classmates has been a joy to witness. The other day, I witnessed a student who typically self-isolates design an elaborate structure using the magnetic sticks with another classmate. The best part? They were laughing and sharing ideas without any conflict. My heart was full! \r\n\r\nThe generosity of my friends, family and supporters of educators nationwide has made a positive impact on my 4th/5th graders. They particularly enjoyed how the cushion pillows created a cozy reading corner that encourages engagement and creativity.\r\nAs for current projects, my students are working on personal narratives. The next steps involve moving around the classroom and revising peers writing , and I am eager to see how the new resources will enhance their learning experience.\r\nYour support has not only provided them with comfort but also inspired them to explore new avenues in their learning journey.
