We have been using all of the great materials to help us learn to count. One project we completed was a winter name tree. We cut triangles for every letter of our name. We then glued foam letters to each triangle and built a tree. We then compared the height of each of our trees to see whose name was the longest, and whose name was the shortest. After graphing our results, we hung our trees in our hallway for all of the other classes to see!\r\n\r\nWhen I first unboxed al of the donated materials there was a lot of screaming! my students were so excited to see the huge amount of different things we could use for Math. Some students questioned how we would use some of the materials, but all were eager to get started! Math has become a favorite subject in our room! \r\n\r\nAs the year progresses, we will be exploring addtion and subtraction in the room.
