Your kindness has provided my students with so much more than supplies. You have given them tools to feel safe, find comfort, manage their emotions, and experience success.\r\n\r\nMy students absolutely love the tents! They provide a quiet, calming space where they can take a break when the world around them feels overwhelming. As a special education teacher, finding a space that offers students a sense of privacy and calm while still allowing for appropriate supervision can be challenging. These tents provide that perfect balance. Sometimes, having a safe place to reset can make all the difference in a child's day.\r\n\r\nThe weighted vests have also been a wonderful addition. One of my students especially struggles with regulating his emotions during writing activities. We have turned this challenge into a positive experience by having him put on a vest before working on letter tracing or a letter-matching game. He feels more grounded, is able to focus, and becomes genuinely engaged in the activity. Watching him experience these moments of calm and success is incredibly rewarding. These may seem like small accomplishments to some, but as a teacher, I know just how meaningful they truly are.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw all the items, their excitement was priceless! They loved taking turns sitting in the tent, trying on the vests, exploring the different sensory smells, and enjoying the snacks. You brought so much happiness into our classroom, and the smiles on their faces said it all.\r\n\r\nOne of my goals moving forward is to help my students recognize their emotions and understand when they need a break. I have created individual passes so they can learn to advocate for themselves and access these resources when they feel frustrated, anxious, or overwhelmed. My hope is that they will learn to recognize what their bodies are telling them and use these tools before their emotions become too big to manage. I want them to build their own personal \"toolboxes\" of strategies they can carry with them throughout life. Your donation is helping me teach skills that reach far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nAlthough a few of the original items were out of stock and I had to choose replacements, please know that every item will be put to good use. Each one serves a purpose and will make a difference in the lives of my students.\r\n\r\nTeaching special education comes with challenges, but it also brings moments of incredible growth and joy. A child learning to calm their body, feeling safe enough to ask for a break, or finding success in an activity that was once difficult can mean everything. These new resources have helped in my classroom by showing my students that representation matters in all aspects of learning! We were able to complete a project about ourselves. The students picked the person template that represented them the best and then added features like hair, eyes, and clothing. Having materials that offer different shades of skin color, different shades of hair color and different eye color gave my students the unique opportunity to really express themselves through art! \r\n\r\nWhen the first package came in and we did a big opening, some of my students cried they were so excited!
