The Rogue Wagon Wheels have made a massive difference in our weightlifting program. When the students first saw them, their eyes lit up—they immediately understood these weren't just any weights. We've been using the wheels during deadlift sessions to better support proper lifting form and reduce strain on the lower back, especially for our beginner lifters. One of our current projects is teaching students how to safely progress with compound lifts, and having access to professional-grade equipment like this has elevated the entire experience. Students have been very respectful with the headphones so far and are very appreciative. My favorite comment so far from a student is \"thank you, now I don't have to listen to Disney music\", this is from a class where a large group of them have me play Disney music while they paint. \r\n\r\nStudents thrive off of music in the art room, but they don't often pick the same music so this has been a game changer to get students more motivated. This has also been a good lesson on being grateful and writing thank you notes. \r\n\r\nThis has also helped my sanity because I have had less student tell me they can't do a project because they can't watch the video that goes with it. I also don't have to listen to all of their videos and music when they didn't have their own headphones. I am now starting to implement more of my own recorded videos so students who missed a day can catch up. \r\n\r\nI can't wait for you to see their thank you notes and some of the artwork they have made while using the headphones.","fullyFundedDate":1744578835784,"projectUrl":"project/inspiring-music-for-young-artists/9227351/","projectTitle":"Inspiring Music for Young Artists!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9990032_orig.jpg?crop=856,856,x0,y37&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743726598206","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9990032"},{"teacherId":1546601,"projectId":9112268,"letterContent":"Dear Mary Kay,\r\n\r\nI want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your incredible support in providing Carhartt coats for our students at Bradley Technology and Trade School. Your generosity has created a ripple effect of warmth, joy, and confidence throughout our school community.\r\n\r\nMore Than Just a Coat\r\nThe moment the coats arrived, it was as if a wave of excitement swept through the building. Students couldn't believe they were receiving brand-new, high-quality Carhartt coats — not hand-me-downs or lightly used items, but something brand new, just for them. The pride on their faces was unforgettable. One student even said, \"I've always wanted a Carhartt, but I never thought I'd actually have one.\" Moments like that show just how much this project means to our kids.\r\n\r\nA Tool for Learning and Beyond\r\nThese coats are so much more than just winter gear — they are a symbol of care and possibility. By removing the worry of staying warm, students are arriving at school more comfortable and ready to learn. When students aren't distracted by the cold, they can engage more fully in classroom activities, focus on their lessons, and participate in outdoor learning experiences that Wisconsin weather might otherwise make challenging.\r\n\r\nA Teaching Moment\r\nThis project has also opened the door for meaningful conversations about gratitude, community support, and self-respect. We've had classroom discussions where students reflected on what it means to receive a gift like this and how they can pay it forward in their own lives — whether that's by showing kindness to peers, working harder in class, or simply appreciating the people who care about their success.\r\n\r\nLooking Ahead\r\nAs we continue to distribute the coats, we're tying this project into lessons on goal-setting and self-worth. We're encouraging students to think about the paths they want to take after high school and how moments like this — where people invest in them — should remind them that their future holds value. The coats will continue to serve as both a practical resource and a daily reminder that their school and community believe in them.\r\n\r\nThank you again, Mary Kay, for your kindness, generosity, and commitment to our students. This project has made a real and lasting impact, and we are so fortunate to have your support in helping our students stay warm, confident, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1740278637625,"projectUrl":"project/carhartt-winter-coat-drive/9112268/","projectTitle":"Carhartt Winter Coat Drive","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Klein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1546601_orig.jpg?crop=2448,2448,x0,y301&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1566587223784","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kleinmps"},{"teacherId":9729181,"projectId":8738106,"letterContent":"I want to start by thanking you all for your donations that helped me supply my students with much needed school supplies. Thank you! \r\n\r\nWhen I first met my students this semester and explained the needed supplies supplies for my class, I could see the look on some of their faces. The look of \"who am I going to ask to get that for me?\" or \"I know my family can't afford any more supplies\". It made my heart sink that they even had to think about something as school supplies becoming a burden. All of my students come from low income houses and I have a few who are currently in foster care. Your donations brought routine and relief to my students. \r\n\r\nWe use our folders and notebooks everyday to work on our writing composition skills. All of my students have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and need numerous supports to help them get on grade level and to graduate on time. We use pencils, pens, highlighters and erasers everyday to not only complete work, but to help with our reading comprehension skills by underlining and highlighting important facts and ideas in all of the academic classes! The markers and colored pencils were so incredibly helpful for our class project when students were asked to create a few drawings that represented them. Having new coloring utensils made such a huge difference in their drawings! Students completed their projects with pride.\r\n\r\nThe snacks are one of the biggest hits! My students know that they can come to me to get something in their stomach. Many of my students struggle with getting full meals, so having those extra snacks is an amazing gift! I also use them as an incentive for those who are working on IEP goals. It gives them something to look forward to and to help them feel accomplished when they meet a goal.\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in public schools and providing some well deserving students with much needed supplies!","fullyFundedDate":1725734056666,"projectUrl":"project/ms-britos-supplies-and-success-project/8738106/","projectTitle":"Ms. Brito's Supplies and Success Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brito","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9729181"},{"teacherId":1546601,"projectId":9003904,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all of you for your incredible support of our Carhartt Coats project. Thanks to your generosity, our students at Bradley Technology and Trade School are now receiving high-quality Carhartt coats that are making a real difference in their lives.\r\n\r\nA Gift of Warmth and Confidence\r\nWhen the first shipment of coats arrived, the excitement was contagious. Students' eyes lit up with joy and disbelief as they were handed their brand-new Carhartt coats. For many, this was the first time they had received such a high-quality item of clothing made by a brand they know and respect. The pride they felt in putting on these coats was evident — they didn't just feel warm, they felt seen and valued.\r\n\r\nReal Impact in Real Time\r\nWe've had students eagerly showing off their new coats to classmates and staff, proudly saying, \"Look what we got from our school!\" This project has become more than just providing winter gear — it has become a symbol of care and community support that helps build students' sense of belonging. For our students, knowing that people outside their immediate circle care about their well-being is powerful.\r\n\r\nMore Than a Coat\r\nThese coats are already playing a crucial role in helping our students focus in the classroom. In Wisconsin winters, not having adequate outerwear can be a significant barrier to attendance and engagement. Now, students can arrive to school comfortably, ready to focus on their learning instead of worrying about the cold.\r\n\r\nWhat's Next?\r\nAs we continue to distribute the coats, we are also using this moment to have meaningful conversations about self-worth, responsibility, and gratitude. Students are learning that the community invests in them because we believe in their potential. We're encouraging them to take pride in their education, just like they take pride in wearing their new Carhartt coats.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for your kindness and for helping us turn a simple idea into a life-changing experience for our students.
