We were able to dispose of two smaller, older, rather dirty rugs in favor of our new, low-stim, aesthetically pleasing one funded by our donors. The beanbags are used for daily rest time, as mentioned above, but they also provide comfortable seating for Fun Friday Movie and at times also function as flexible seating options for our kiddos with unique sensory input needs. Similarly, the magnatiles are a hit amongst my kiddos on the autism spectrum. They love sorting through the various colors and feeling the magnets between their fingers. \r\n\r\nOftentimes, it feels as though special education classrooms fall by the wayside a bit in terms of classroom refresh prioritization and schoolwide budgets. With your help, you've done a wonderful job of helping fill this gap for us. I inherited a lovely, large classroom space from my predecessor a few years ago- and this was my first Donors Choose project that I enlisted to help make the space our own and replace many old items with a few new ones. The success of this project makes me feel as though our students are being seen! These resources have truly transformed our learning environment, sparking a passion for hands-on discovery and STEM exploration. Watching my students engage with this technology has been profoundly inspiring. They are not only grasping the fundamental principles of renewable and clean energy—critical aspects of the 2030 SDG goals—but also honing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, key 21st-century competencies that will benefit them throughout their lives.\r\n\r\nAmong the incredible tools you provided, the Solar Robot has ignited particular excitement in our classroom. Students have eagerly taken to assembling and customizing their robots, experimenting with solar panels, and witnessing firsthand how energy from the sun powers their creations. These hands-on experiences have brought abstract concepts to life, fostering a deep appreciation for sustainable technology and the power of innovation.\r\n\r\nThe enthusiasm and curiosity your gift has inspired are truly remarkable. Students who once hesitated to explore science now approach each project with confidence and excitement. They've especially embraced the collaborative nature of these activities, working together to troubleshoot and innovate with their peers. These tools have opened doors to meaningful discussions about real-world applications and sparked dreams of future careers in engineering, renewable energy, and technology. Your generosity has made this transformative experience possible, and for that, we are forever grateful.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your kindness and unwavering commitment to empowering the next generation.\r\n\r\nWith heartfelt appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1726766347509,"projectUrl":"project/early-exposure-to-stem-projects-creates/8718883/","projectTitle":"Early Exposure to STEM Projects Creates Lifelong Problem Solvers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Abolanle Maryam Omoyele","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9716209_orig.jpg?crop=600,600,x200,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724916403582","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9716209"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_37747","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":465,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":80,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.3,"schoolId":37747,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Allen - Field Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Allen - Field Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/milwaukee-public-schools/allen-field-elementary-school/37747"}
