We unpacked them together and talked about how we would use many of the materials.\r\nFor our simple machines unit, we used the conveyor belt and the motion discovery tubes of friction, speed and flow. It is absolutely amazing to listen to young students use words like incline plane, lever, fulcrum, friction, and more with a deep understanding thanks to the materials. \r\nFor our unit on buildings, we built simple bird houses one day and then were able to decorate with paint and stickers the next day. They are very quick to say I will get out my chair pocket activity. Students were able to cut a variety of shapes out of cardboard to construct artwork and small structures.\r\nThe excitement in our classroom spilled over to other classrooms in our building as well.
