We use our dry erase markers and marker boards as well as headphones, almost every day in class. \r\n\r\n Every day in phonics, writing and math, students utilize dry erase markers, dry erase boards and erasers in our class. Due to the amount of times we use dry erase markers, students use them up quickly and we end up running out. These markers are on the school supply list, however, many times students' families do not have enough money to purchase new supplies. Having extra markers available to those students who need them, is incredibly helpful in allowing all students to participate in our activities.\r\n\r\n Every day in our intervention and during reading groups, students wear headphones to do their work on their computers. Our school-wide intervention program is a computer based program and students need headphones in order to hear the directions and lessons they are completing. Students also use two reading programs online to hear books read to them in our 'listen-to-reading,' reading center. Although headphones are our school supply list, many students do not bring headphones to school, and/or the ones they brought occasionally end up breaking. \r\n\r\nHaving extra dry erase markers and headphones in the classroom is so helpful not only to the students in my class this year, but will also be helpful for students in years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1744131894030,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-and-dry-erase-markers/9193690/","projectTitle":"Headphones and Dry Erase Markers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jagel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3356985_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1449676018787","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-jagel"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_37492","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":443,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":92.0,"schoolId":37492,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Somers Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Somers Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/kenosha-unified-school-district-1/somers-elementary-school/37492"}
