I have had a chance to unpackage and the students have had a chance to use the materials. They were so excited to see the materials as they arrived and were itching to try them out. \r\n Their excitement did not go down as we got to use them. In fact, they are still so excited each chance they get to use the materials. During reading daily, students are allowed to use the Lakeshore floor chairs. Students also use these during math game time and work completion time. The floor chairs have 6 different modes or options for how reclined they are. They all love them because they can find the way that they learn best. \r\n We have used the clay during our Science time to make clay islands with landforms on them. Many of them said this was their favorite activity of the year. It definitely made learning landforms and mapping more fun! Studies show students learn more when they are having fun!\r\n Last, but certainly not least were the Carry around Robot Towns and Carry Around Animal Towns. These are the absolute favorite of the items we received (if you ask the second graders). They love to play with them during incentive time and it has become a great tool to help them build social skills through play!\r\n Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom! I could not have made this school year as fun for these students without you! I can already see the engagement improving as we focus on learning in fun ways! Your donations mean so much to my students and myself.","fullyFundedDate":1758888755370,"projectUrl":"project/let-the-fun-times-roll/9533570/","projectTitle":"Let the Fun Times Roll!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. M.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5302911_orig.jpg?crop=616,616,x0,y55&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1568330842394","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5302911"},{"teacherId":6487518,"projectId":9568580,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating and helping us create a calming area for our students to feel and regulate their emotions in. This month our reading program focused on community heroes and so these stations encouraged community vocabulary words while playing. These stations also strengthened a sense of classroom community and getting along with each other. It's pretty sweet to see everyone having fun and talking to each other. \r\n\r\nMy students loved the post office in the dramatic play area. We learned to write a letter this month in writing class. This was a great connection for students to use writing with play. My class also loved the block area this month where they built maps with the blocks. They used the toy cars and block people from your donation. The \r\nLegos were added to the toy shelf with applause and celebration. The photo shows a group effort to build a community building. \r\n\r\nYour donation included so many future play based experiences to keep my young learners engaged. I'm looking forward the veterinary's office and a flower shop. Thank you! Thank you! The new carpet and the light covers were so helpful in creating a calming and happy atmosphere for the second graders and myself. They were so excited, particularly about the new carpet and that area became the favorite place for them to be. They wanted to read more and they were so careful with the carpet, wanting to keep it clean and beautiful. \r\n\r\nNext year, the students will enjoy the light covers and carpeting as well and it will help set the tone for the calm, exciting and engaging class atmosphere that I want to create for my incoming second graders.
