A class favorite so far has definitely been The Crucible, taught with the help of resources purchased from this project! And as a Thoreau fan, our Civil Disobedience Gallery Walk was a favorite for me. I loved getting to explore such a crucial philosophy with them. At the beginning of the year I told students that I had a cute rug and pillows on the way, so they were anxiously awaiting their arrival. Students were elated to walk into class one day and see that our space was more cozy and welcoming than the day before! These items give hardworking students with consistent on-task behavior the option to enjoy flexible seating during independent work or reading time. \r\n\r\nWhile these items add to the ambience of the room, they also help teach my students crucial skills. As mentioned before, this flexible seating option is considered a reward for students who have shown they are responsible enough to handle working on their own in a setting other than their desk. This motivates students to practice on task behaviors and complete their work efficiently.
