These new texts introduce key reading skills like making inferences, identifying themes, expanding vocabulary through context, and building stamina with longer, more complex stories. Many of the books also open the door to meaningful discussions about characters, problem-solving, and seeing the world from different perspectives.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active and joyful. You'll often see students reading independently, partnered up to discuss a chapter, or gathered in small groups where we pause to ask questions, make predictions, and connect the story to our own lives. These books have made it easier to teach mini-lessons because students are genuinely engaged and eager to talk about what they're reading.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant readers have been especially excited about the new books. One student now asks to take books home so they can keep reading at night, while another proudly recommends titles to classmates. Seeing students build confidence, excitement, and a true love of reading has been one of the most meaningful outcomes of this project. Your support didn't just add books to our shelves—it helped create readers.","fullyFundedDate":1760701965564,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-diverse-classroom-library-t/9732142/","projectTitle":"Building a Diverse Classroom Library & Tools for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rubsam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5626755_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533534635356","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5626755"},{"teacherId":5626755,"projectId":9223277,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting inquiry and project-based/arts integrated learning in our classroom! Because of your generous donation, my 7th grade humanities students now have access to inquiry and project-based materials that have completely transformed the way they learn. We are using these new resources daily to support student-led research, collaborative discussions, and hands-on projects connected to our curriculum. One of our first projects using the materials focused on our names and this history of them. Students worked individually to investigate their names, write a short essay about their names, create visuals, and share their work in the hallways.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and genuine. Several students asked if we could start using them right away, and others eagerly began brainstorming project ideas. Many of my students who are typically hesitant to participate became more confident because the materials encouraged exploration rather than \"right or wrong\" answers. The hands-on nature of the resources made learning feel more meaningful and engaging for them.\r\n\r\nThese materials have allowed my classroom to shift from teacher-directed lessons to student-centered inquiry. Students are now asking deeper questions, supporting their ideas with evidence, and collaborating more effectively with their peers. I have seen students take ownership of their learning in ways I had not seen before. The classroom atmosphere is more energized, focused, and creative as a result.\r\n\r\nRight now, students are beginning a new project that connects historical inquiry to modern-day issues. They will use the materials to research primary sources, design solutions, and reflect on how the past informs the present. The next steps include peer feedback, revisions, and a final showcase of their work.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this powerful learning experience possible. Your support has had a lasting impact on my students and their confidence as thinkers, researchers, and collaborators. They truly feel that their learning matters, and that is because of you.","fullyFundedDate":1757178637637,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-the-future-of-arts-integration-in/9223277/","projectTitle":"Fuel the Future of Arts Integration & Inquiry","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rubsam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5626755_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533534635356","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5626755"},{"teacherId":9489734,"projectId":9348311,"letterContent":"We can not thank you enough for the gift you have given us!
