I am so thankful to have physical copies of books to go with the lessons I teach with them. In the past, I would need to find a video of someone reading the books, but have always believed turning the pages of a physical book holds so much more value. \r\n\r\nThese books are used to teach a variety of speech and language skills to my students. We read the story as a group and work on our goals afterwards. Some of my students work on producing accurate speech sounds using words from these books while others are working on reading with their best sounds. My students working towards language skills are working on retelling the story, answering questions about the story, sequencing events and building their vocabulary. My students who use AAC devices to support their communication enjoy using core boards to comment on things in the book.
