Because of your kindness, we now have a set of brand-new dictionaries that are already making a big impact on my students' learning.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room was immediate when the dictionaries arrived. We had to share the few old and worn dictionaries that we had, so each child getting their own was important—some even started flipping through the pages just to find unusual words! One student told me, \"I feel like a real scholar with this,\" and that sentiment has carried through our lessons ever since.\r\n\r\nWe recently used the dictionaries during a vocabulary search activity connected to our current reading unit. Students worked in pairs to look up new and challenging words, find their definitions, parts of speech, and even pronunciation. What began as an academic task quickly turned into a fun and interactive challenge. One student, who is usually very quiet, became the pronunciation expert of their group—and for the first time this year, confidently took on a leadership role.\r\n\r\nThese dictionaries will continue to be a vital part of our classroom, especially during our word wall studies and writing projects. They're not just books—they're tools that empower my students to explore, ask questions, and take charge of their own learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for being a part of this journey with us.
