I saw so much eager participation in structured learning and free play time, each day that I took out a new activity. These hands on materials have allowed so much learning, creativity, and joy. One of my students who is very hard to engage has even come up with a new game with the Mr Potato heads where she brings over the small glasses for us to pretend to wear. It has been amazing to see! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.\r\n \r\nStudents were particularly fond of the magnitiles. These have been great to work on hand strength (fine motor) and pretend play. They also have been great to help students apply early math concepts such as matching colors, building shapes, problem solving how to make a structure, and making patterns. You can see many of these skills being worked on in these photos during play time. These skills are taught explicitly, but are often shown by students more reluctant to participate, during play time instead of during the lesson where they may refuse to join in. You can see some amazing thinking that came out of play time with these resources this day. One of the sweetest things I saw was students building animal zoos and houses. Keep an eye out for this in the pictures as well as the many other skills listed!\r\n \r\nThank you so much again for your support of my students.
