Several students, staff, and community members have all commented on how nice the cabinets look, and how cool it is that students have access to items they often need but don't always have on hand or have the ability to purchase on their own. One student responded with, \"This really helps,\" and gave his teacher a hug. That moment reminded us exactly why this project matters.\r\n\r\nSo far, we've already been able to give out a variety of personal care items (such as brushes, deodorant, pads, and reusable water bottles)! There's a growing sense of ownership and pride around the Care Cabinet.\r\n\r\nThis project has been about more than just supplies—it's about dignity, support, and creating a school environment where every student feels seen and cared for. Funny books in a variety of genres helps me encourage reading and show how exciting it can be! Creating a space for students to feel comfortable and safe and supported is also extremely important and the pillows, plants, and snacks did just that. I would love to share how we used the books:\r\nI created a library space in my classroom to encourage reading. Our snuggly pillows, plants, and calm lighting made it an inviting space. I have many genres to give students lots of options. We invited families to read with us one day and enjoy our new materials (I attached a picture). \r\nWe used our Far out Fables book series to teach that there are different versions to every story. We then took the time to write our own versions of a fable we chose. Choice and creativity really keeps students engaged! \r\nStudents choose to read more this year whenever they got the chance and enjoyed sharing stories after they read them because they liked them so much. They also constantly talked about the pile of snacks we had and how awesome it was to start the school year KNOWING they would have food if they needed it. My students were readers that devoured snacks and knowledge this year thanks to you!","fullyFundedDate":1729529413584,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-and-super-fun-books/8632421/","projectTitle":"Snacks and Super Fun Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hefa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8603853_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y256&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1660110553966","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8603853"},{"teacherId":8603853,"projectId":8638438,"letterContent":"My students absolutely LOVED the materials we received through this project! We opened the boxes and looked at each new material and book for our classroom. The students were so excited and all of the materials really added to the hands-on learning and visually enriching classroom I wanted to have.\r\n\r\nThe year is done but I cannot wait to continue to use the materials in the following years for each new group of students!
