What an amazing ABC Bootcamp we had because of your generous support to our Early Learning! We suited up with our camo hats, binoculars, dog tags and reported to our 1st mission. Students completed 10 missions throughout the day that mostly revolved around their alphabet. We searched high and low on the playground for letters that were hidden. We completed an obstacle course in the gym where it tested our strength with balancing, climbing, hopping and crawling. We sorted letters from magazines and more. Students loved every bit of their ABC Bootcamp day! It has truly transformed our 4th-grade classroom, sparking creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning. Our students began by designing personalized name tags, which gave them a chance to explore CAD software and see their ideas come to life. They quickly progressed to carving 3D pumpkins on the CAD program, refining their design skills and sharing their excitement by teaching peers from another class how to use the software. Together, they even printed pumpkins for their classmates, building a sense of community and pride.\r\n\r\nBeyond design, the 3D printer has opened doors for cross-grade collaboration and deeper learning. Using math and scaling skills, students designed and printed doll furniture for a 1st-grade classroom, applying real-world problem-solving to delight younger students. Currently, our class is exploring artistic adaptations of animal-food combinations, blending imagination with technical skills to create one-of-a-kind projects. These experiences have not only enhanced their learning but also built confidence, teamwork, and joy.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your support, which has provided our students with this extraordinary opportunity to learn, grow, and create. Your generosity has made a lasting impact on their education and inspired a love for innovation.","fullyFundedDate":1723907884352,"projectUrl":"project/future-designers-3d-printing-elementa/8486122/","projectTitle":"Future Designers: 3D Printing & Elementary STEAM","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9586009_orig.jpg?crop=501,501,x40,y157&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720493588435","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9586009"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_127666","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":414,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":54,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":75.8,"schoolId":127666,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Groff Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Groff Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/moses-lake-school-district-161/groff-elementary-school/127666"}
